Our cheese of the week is Elrick Log!
Elrick Log, is soft and creamy, with a smooth, spreadable texture. The goats cheese is rubbed in vegetable ash which gives the cheese a subtle smokiness that enhances it’s earthy, herbal notes.
After starting with a small flock of ewes in the 1980s, Humphrey Errington began making cheese from their milk. Four cheeses and a herd of goats later and the family run dairy in South Lanarkshire is where all the milk produced is made into cheese by hand with the four cheeses they produce reflecting the seasons.
We love it – we think you will too so please pop in & give it a try.
