Aubrey Allen is thrilled to announce that Rachel Barnwell has won the Rising Star Award at the 2025 Women in Meat Industry Awards, held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. The ceremony, hosted by Rory Bremner and Julie Peasgood, celebrated outstanding female talent shaping the future of the meat sector.
Rachel’s win is a testament to her dedication, innovation and deep understanding of the industry. Growing up around farming and with a lifelong connection to the industry, Rachel began her career with Aubrey Allen over nine years ago following a farm visit that sparked a lasting relationship with the business. After gaining valuable experience in wider procurement roles, Rachel returned to join the purchasing team and has since gone from strength to strength.
From pioneering work with heritage beef to running internal beef education seminars, Rachel has consistently demonstrated a commitment to championing high-welfare, sustainable meat sourcing. Her leadership, knowledge and drive made her stand out against tough competition in this national award.
“I couldn’t be prouder,” said Lucianne Allen, Sales and Marketing Director at Aubrey Allen, Rachel’s mentor and a former winner of the Meat Businesswoman of the Year award. “Rachel embodies what the next generation of this industry should look like: intelligent, values-driven, and relentlessly curious. She brings the future into focus, and this recognition is so well deserved.”
The entire Aubrey Allen team celebrates Rachel’s achievement and looks forward to seeing how she progresses in the industry. Congratulations Rachel!
