As an award winning family butchers and cheesemongers with a passion for exceptional quality, these awards are a testament to the care, skill and dedication that goes into every product we make. From traditional British favourites to continental inspired cured meats, our range impressed some of the most discerning palates in the industry.
3 stars – Maple Cured Pork Ribeye
The judges described our Maple Cured Pork Ribeye as “a pleasing level of maple syrup and pork on the nose. With natural sweetness from the pork as well as the maple, the joint is moist, succulent and tender with a great bite and a deep molasses note from the caramelisation. The flavours last extremely well and the effect is moreish.” This standout cut is crafted by our butchers from our Free Range Pigs, then cured with a dark canadian maple syrup, and later smoked. An eye-catching joint, with an enticing rich mahogany-coloured glaze. The result? A product that’s not only unique but now officially among the best of the best.
2 stars – Wagyu Pastrami and Pork Pie
Our Wagyu Pastrami comes from our British Full Blood Wyndford Wagyu that our butchers craft from whole carcasses. “A very well presented pastrami with a fabulous level of marbling, an enticing aroma rich with beefy umami herbs and a balanced level of sweetness. A firm but succulent texture, that releases a delicate but very clean flavour profile rich with the savoury beef and balanced with the spice and sweetness to bring more complexity and length to this very well made tasty pastrami.”
“An attractive looking Pork Pie* with a good depth in porky aroma, the pastry has bite and is short and not tough. The meat is so hearty, with deep layers of flavour! That jelly had the most beautiful meaty, fresh and well seasoned flavour – moreish (and utterly devoured).” *only available in the deli counter of our Leamington Spa shop
